There is no better way to celebrate your child’s first birthday (or any birthday for that matter) than with a cake smash. Just as you’re starting to see their real character emerge and their personality shine through, this is the perfect age to capture some of the cutest and most fun images you may ever get of your little one. We may even snap some of their first steps if we’re lucky!

Before all of the mess, we start off with a gorgeous portrait of your child and then we move on to the fun part…….. the smashing. This part usually lasts around 30 minutes and basically keeps going until either the cake is destroyed or your little one has eaten their fill of cake and can’t eat a drop more. Trust us, you’d be surprised at how much a 1 year old can eat!

The total length is 1 hour and once this is finished you can take home any left over cake. Once we’ve prepared your images you’ll receive a link to a private online gallery where you’ll be able to choose your favourite 20 images from the photoshoot. We also offer a stunning range of wall art, albums and digital copies to perfectly showcase the images we’ve created for you.

What should my child wear?
When choosing clothing for your little one, bear in mind that keeping the clothing colours coordinated is key to fab looking photos. You can find dozens of amazing cake smash outfits from online retailers at a very reasonable cost. Due to hygiene reasons (we’re trying not to mention covid!) we do not supply children’s clothing for the photoshoot.
Who’s going to get messy?
We all know the cake’s gonna fly and it’ll land on you too! When it comes to mess, icing is up there with the stickiest of it all. Having to hold and sometimes encourage your child to get smashing means that this stuff is almost guaranteed to cover us all so make sure to bring along a clothing change for yourself as well as your child.
Who provides the cake?
We have a pretty epic cake maker who lovingly prepares all of our cakes for us in a colour to match your set. These cakes are specially made to be super soft to make them as smashable (and messy) as possible. Should your child have any allergies at all, we need to know this when your booking questionnaire is filled in. We suggest in this case that the cake is supplied by you to put your mind 100% at ease. Don’t forget to bring along a container just in case there is any cake left in an edible condition!
Where do I park?
There is free allocated parking right outside the studio door for your convenience.
