A Little About Atlas And Who We Are
Hi, I’m Mark, thanks for taking the time to have a look through our site.
So a little about Atlas and who we are……..Atlas is primarily run by me (Mark:-) and my partner Sara. Two photographers who share a love and a passion for our art and our work.
I’m a classically trained photographer, learning my trade long before the digital era came about, spending countless hours locked away in a darkroom, vast amounts of student loans being poured away on reel after reel of film and photographic paper, but one who ultimately developed his skills as a photographer who in the true sense of the word, “paints in light” and has an intrinsic understanding of capturing the perfect moment and creating timeless images.
Having perfected my trade and worked in various studios I realised that the only way to progress and forge a way forward was to head out on my own and develop my own, and what is now a quite unique and individual style of photography, and this is what you see today. So in 2009 Atlas Photography was born, and I haven’t looked back from there! Since starting out on my own, I’ve worked with many major clients, shooting events, product and virtually all genres of photography throughout the years, nothing is as rewarding, as fulfilling and satisfying to me in life as capturing the perfect moment in a photograph.
Sara is a photographer who has worked alongside me learning her trade on the job and has an immense eye for detail. At any wedding days we shoot, Sara works with the wedding party to make sure that everything runs smoothly and seamlessly so our clients get the perfect wedding experience. Whilst Sara spends her time making sure all of the finer details are perfect for any detailed photos while only one photographer is required, as soon as possible she then takes the roll of second photographer. This means that at any wedding we cover, our clients have a second photographer for at least 80% of the day. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect partner or team.
So together we opened our first studio in Salisbury in March 2017 – Studio 8, and have been immensely lucky in the new scope that Atlas has been given. This gave us the creative space we needed to focus even more so on our portrait and product photography as well as a having an amazing space to meet and greet wedding clients. Having the studio customised to meet our exact needs, we now have the ability to push our creativity in so many different ways and on a totally different scale and can also boast having the only infinity cove in Salisbury.
When it comes to one of my biggest passions in life, wedding photography, I know that in fact I’m the luckiest person on earth. I get to spend my days working with couples in love, capturing breath-taking moments of their most important day. The reward of seeing the emotion and happiness my images bring is beyond riches. As clients first look through a wedding album, this is happiness that couples won’t just share for that moment, but will cherish for a lifetime, every time they see their images. This is my passion, this is my drug, the food that feeds my creativity and my soul. I am the luckiest man on earth!
The combination of mine and Sara’s partnership and having two photographers to capture those cherished moments really means that what we bring to our clients is perfectly honed wedding day photography, capturing the magical essence of your day in our unique style, told with our fine art work, revealing your story to all that gaze upon your images.
